I posted on this subject back in December... I think the issue is one pf practicality... whether ghost writers are up to the job. After all, blogging is about having a personal voice, and that's a very difficult product for a ghost writer to deliver... not to mention the in-depth expertise required to be meaningful to regular readers. Ghosts can probably deliver decent generic copy. But that's hardly sufficient if the blog is to do it's job of attracting and retaining an audience. Here's my post:

"(Although I wonder if after 30 mins there I’d discover a compulsion to tweet “sitting in cave waiting for @Romanus to stop by with the food basket”)."

Haha yes. This is the thing, though, for me. I have no real-life friends at all living anywhere nearby, and in real life I'm too shy to go out and meet people/do anything social. It's actually my basic day-to-day isolation (and the shyness behind it) that *makes me* twitter, blog, etc. The internet allows me to be much more confident than I "really" am. I do think this is an incredibly impoverished way of socialising, but it does something to make one feel connected, from one's cave...

Do you remember when "Come see the softer side of Sears" took off and female consumers dramatically increased Sears revenue (and really reinvented how consumers thought of Sears and vice versa)? I think we await this kind of opportunity with women and technology. Women are loyal to the Brand that first brought them in. Amazing more people haven't picked up on this. Nice post.

I'm a big fan of podcasting, and I think that there's always going to be space for something that allows you just to listen without having to stare at a screen.

I also really like the fact that you can listen to BBC radio shows for a week after they've aired. I just wish that internet radios were a bit better designed - finding stuff you already know exists is hard enough, so finding new stuff to try out is even more of a pain.
